We recently partnered with the talented team at Zephyr and Stone on their recent Gold Coast townhouse project. A designer look, with clean lines and luxury finishes was the objective with this project. Here’s Zephyr and Stone’s expert opinion on how you can get the designer look with sheer curtains.

Window furnishings play a crucial role in creating a designer look in your home. They are an extension of the design and tie a space together. Choosing window furnishings as part of your overall finish selection ensures you create a cohesive space that is considered and flows seamlessly.

When designing our latest project, we needed to select a window furnishing that would provide privacy in the large open-plan living areas, whilst still maintaining a light and airy feel. Being located in the sunny Gold Coast, these townhouses feature North facing large decks with stacker doors and multiple large windows and louvres that border the space. Sheer curtains were the perfect solution, as they allow filtered light to enter the room and also add movement due to the cross breezes within the space.

We took our building material samples into a Victory Blinds showroom, and selected a stunning Polyester fabric for our sheers in the colour Bali Pearl. This colour worked perfectly in both of our colour schemes, and results in bright and airy spaces. The fabric had a texture which we loved, whilst still being semi-transparent.

We also selected block out roller blinds for all bedrooms and the media room. The roller blinds would provide full privacy and sun blockout and sit discreetly behind the sheer curtains, within the window frame.

We opted for a fineline track, which is slimline and ceiling mounted. Our sheers were hung in an ’S Fold’ or ‘Wave Fold’ profile, for a luxurious designer look. We curved the fineline track around corners for a soft, continuous effect. We love the tailored look of hemmed sheers, so opted for a 10mm hem. Our sheers were installed wall to wall and floor to ceiling for a luxe feel.

We also installed sheers in the master bedrooms to add a beautiful softness, privacy and texture. We motorised the roller blinds concealed behind, for the ultimate in usability and luxury. We love the way sheers give a bedroom a luxurious hotel feel. They help create a space that truly feels like a retreat.

We couldn’t be happier with our window furnishing selections in these homes. They compliment the designs perfectly and result in a space that feels considered and complete, cohesive and luxurious.
